Babysitters

I am so lucky to be able to spend most of the day with Addison. When I teach in the afternoons, my mom and dad take turns coming over to babysit. I had to share this picture of Addison's grandpa arriving. How cool is it for him to arrive to babysit on a motorcycle! My dad loves 2 wheels-he has 2 motorcycles and 2 bicycles and will be riding in the MS150 this weekend. I also want to share the picture of the cats "babysitting". They were both watching Addison play when I took this picture. They have been better than I thought they would at adjusting to now being second to the baby.

Arboretum

My sister and her son came in for the weekend and we went to the Arboretum for pictures. It was toward the end of "Dallas Blooms" so we had to go before all the tulips faded. The weather was nice and cool. Going to the arboretum is a lot more work than it used to be especially with 2 babies. We had fun and got some good pictures.

Trip to Kansas and Nebraska

The last week of my maternity leave we went on a week long trip so Addison could meet her family. My parents, Jeff and Addison and I went to Kansas for the weekend to meet Jeff's family. Everyone seemed anxious to meet Addison so we had many parties during the week long trip. We spent time with Jeff's Dad and Grandma in Topeka and his cousin's had a party in Kansas City. Jeff flew home to work and then the rest of us continued on to Nebraska for the week. We stayed with my Grandma in Omaha and saw relatives there and we took one day to drive to Lincoln to my grandparents' home. One of my cousins drove from Wyoming to Omaha with her husband and 3 kids and stayed with my aunt. Another cousin was home from the Philipines to have her baby and be in the States for a few months. Addison met over 50 relatives and friends of the family. She has 7 living grandparents and great grandparents and she got to be with all of them within one week! You can see that everyone wanted to hold Addison. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful large family.

I wasn't sure how travelling with a 2 month old baby would work, but it was much easier than I thought. Addison slept the whole time in the car and when we stopped for lunch, sometimes she would wake up long enough to eat. I learned how many bottles and diapers to pack for each trip and event. My dad did all the driving and we went almost 1500 miles. My dad said that he is now my chauffeur and babysitter. I am so glad he is retired so he and my mom can babysit Addison and their other grandchild Henry. On the way home we were able to stay with my sister in Kansas so the cousins could be together. Her son is 6 months older than Addison and is so advanced!

6 weeks old

Addison will be 6 weeks old at 12:21pm today! I have included some pictures from the day she was born since we had not posted any yet. Then, you will see a few pictures from the past few days. She wore her Texas Tech socks on Saturday and then the basketball team beat Texas, so she is lucky already. She is growing and changing so much. She sort of has a routine of being awake all morning, sleeping in the afternoon, then awake in the evening. We still have at least 2 feedings during the middle of the night so Jeff and I try to alternate so somebody gets some sleep.

Wildcat training starts early...

KSU at KU is this Saturday and we are gearing up for the game with some music sent from her Grandpa. Addison has never seen them lose to KU (1-0). Let's hope the streak continues.
